Hong Kong’s next generation of surfers will be catching waves again this summer at Treasure Island. These week-long day camps, now in their 11th year, will teach your young ones surf skills, ocean safety and more as they join in other fun activities and make new friends. There are three camps to choose from including Beginner (Grommet Surf Camp, ages 5-9) and Intermediate (ages 9-12) Surf Camps as well as an Adventure Camp (ages 7-16) with a range of outdoor activities for older children. Treasure Island makes planning for the days out easy with a ‘what to bring’ check list, and if your kid is lacking a sun hat or rashie, you can buy them on their website and the items will be waiting when they arrive for camp.

    Dates:        18 June – 25 August
Time:         7.45am to 4.40pm Monday to Friday

The camp includes fantastic outdoor adventures like sea kayaking, surfing/stand-up paddle boarding, slack-longing and canyoneering in a beautiful, natural outdoor setting. During the camp, participants will have the opportunity to develop essential life skills including a positive outlook, self esteem, strength and resilience while they are participating in a range of exciting land and water sports (exact sports offered depends on weather). Water sports experience is not required but a good basic level of physical fitness is recommended. Participants should be fairly comfortable swimming in the sea with a life jacket.

(self explanatory), ‘Jungle Chef Camp’, where they’ll cook on a camp fire using organic crops from the garden, and several other fun and educational camps.  All activities are geared around enjoying and understanding the natural environment and will include adventure walks, building dens, swimming in rock pools, planting vegetables and visiting farm animals. There will even be the option for overnight camping.
