Bread Street Kitchen and Bar, Lan Kwai Fong
Teaming up with Dining Concepts to bring his hugely successful London concept to the streets of LFK, this 90 seat diner offers British favourites but with a definite nod to the Asian location.
Despite his fine dining pedigree, Ramsay’s decision to open an all-day dining restaurant with a menu full of fun, family favourites reflects the challenge of operating a restaurant in the expensive streets of Hong Kong. But don’t despair, he’s adamant that the focus on high quality ingredients sourced both locally and imported will mean that diners can still expect the high standards for which his restaurants across the globe are famous.
The launch party enabled us to sample a selection of the menu with highlights including the sumptuous short rib burger with Monterey Jack cheese and spicy sriracha mayo, the moorish flat bread with caramelised onions, taleggio cheese, cured pigs cheek, basil pesto and the very British Eton Mess.
Built around an open kitchen, with booths and a sizeable bar area, Bread Street Kitchen is an ideal venue for a family lunch or relaxed evening out with friends. If the food can deliver on its promises, and maintain consistency and quality, then Bread Street Kitchen will hopefully be the first of many successful Hong Kong ventures for one of Britain’s most successful (and rather sweary) chefs.
