For cocktail connoisseurs, it’s no secret that Honi Honi Tiki Cocktail Lounge is one of the best spots in town with the likes of Forbes endorsing the establishment as one of the Top 100 “The Global Party” venues and even The Wall Street Journal naming it one of “The World’s Finest Locations”.
This hidden oasis in the heart of Central boasts lush greenery, sculpted furniture, and authentic tributes to Polynesian elements of timber and bamboo. The atmosphere feels warm, energetic and most of all, welcoming.
Offering one of the biggest rum libraries in Asia, Bar Manager Pawel Mikuesk is mixing things up with a creative series of themed Tiki cocktails.
Available until the start of December, the Tales of Tiki Episode Two introduces rum revellers to four new swashbuckling cocktails and one new pirate shot for those feeling extra adventurous.
Each cocktail is inspired by famous real life pirates; Edward Teach (Blackbeard), Anne Bonny (Lady Pirate), William Kidd (Captain Kidd) and Ching Shih (Madame Ching).
For something sweet but punchy, drink from Blackbeard’s Double Barrel ($120), made with Honi Honi grog, citrus and spices and finished with gunpowder tea. Wild and whacky, this rebellious concoction left us wanting more!
Looking for something stronger? The Davy Jones’ Locker ($120) is fierce and feisty with a mix of Bermuda Rum, banana and absinthe shaken with an egg yolk for a smooth and creamy finish. Punchy, fruity and the perfect pick for winding down after a long day at work.
And if those options feel a little bit too adventurous for you, you can always opt for The Tropical Storm, Honi Honi’s all time best seller that is sweet and smooth in all the right ways.
Verdict: If you like to live life on the wild side by sampling new cocktails, you will love this special series. Besides the fun-factor, the carefully curated libations are unique in flavour and pack a tasty punch that will keep you coming back for more. But remember, as they’re only available until the start of December, be sure not to miss out!
