We all know that young people are our future, but did you know a group in Hong Kong is focused on empowering and and encouraging young people to use their talents and passion to make a positive change in our community?

What is Kids4Kids?

Kids4Kids is a non-profit that was created in 2008 to inspire youth in Hong Kong to take action and create positive social change. They partner with various schools, charities and community organizations to educate, engage and enable kids and youth from all backgrounds to impact the community. One of their main events each year is the Powered By Youth Forum.

About the Event

Each year, the Powered By Youth Forum brings together ambitious and passionate young people from ages 12-17 who have a desire to effect positive change in the community. Spread across two weekends in September, the Forum affords students the opportunity to work with influential speakers and facilitators in breakout planning sessions . They focus on their own personal strengths in groups called “Power Groups.” They then discuss and strategise around social issues in groups called “Passion Groups.”

The teens then use their “Power” and “Passion” to create Community Action Projects. They are taught pitching and advocacy skills and present their project to a panel of judges as they compete for a chance to put their plan into action in real life.
