Where to Go with the Girls

Whether you’re planning a bachelorette party or baby shower, or just looking for an excuse to catch up with friends, we’ve got lots of fun suggestions for girly get togethers.  From dinners to drinks, pampering to painting – we just know you’ll have a great time!

La Creperie  – This cozy cafe in Wan Chai is perfect for small groups of girls.  Between the authentic buckwheat galettes filled with savoury meats, cheeses, and veggies, and the decadent dessert crepes, we promise you won’t leave hungry!

Tea Saloon by Anotherfineday – We love the super girly decor at this tea shop – think hot pink walls and eclectic furniture.  The tea sets include a fantastic selection of savoury sandwiches (including mini-sliders in the Gentleman’s set) and tasty bite-sized desserts. Note that Tea Saloon closes up shop around 7 pm, so it’s best suited for afternoon gatherings.  An offset area near the back of the shop can function as a private room for baby or bridal showers.

Wine-derlust at the W Hotel  Every Wednesday the Woobar at the W Hotel becomes paradise for wine and cheese lovers.  An extensive selection of free flow wines, cheeses and cold cuts is available for a mere $278.  So grab a group of friends, get dressed up and eat and drink to your hearts content! Live DJ’s are also in attendance to make this an ideal girls’ night out.  8-10.30 weekly but advance booking advised.

Flawless, Beauty Specialized is Hong Kong’s chicest urban spa.  Their team of therapists are on hand to create the perfect hen party, baby shower or birthday event.  Enjoy the nibbles and champagne on the outdoor terrace and be pampered and preened by their fantastic team.

Amika Hairdo Bar –  Amika will reserve the entire second floor for small groups getting ready for a night on the town – everyone can get shampooed and styled together while sipping champagne and sampling sweets from Amika’s candy buffet.  Full catering service can be arranged, making the Hairdo Bar the perfect place to host a bridal shower, or get glam before dancing the night away in LKF.

Art Jam – Grab the girls and get creative! For something a bit different, try an Art Jam session.  All you have to do is select a “fast flow” (90 minute) or “slow flow” (4 hour) session, show up, and let your inner Picasso loose – they’ll provide free flow paint and a selection of various sizes/shapes of canvas. Best of all, if you decide your finished work isn’t worthy of a place on the walls of your home, you can donate your used canvas back to Art Jam to be recycled in a program for underprivileged kids.

Portobello – We love Portobello for a cup of tea and delicious desserts – it’s perfect for having a good chat with girlfriends after dinner. The white chocolate cheesecake and toffee banoffe pie are always a hit.

Happy Foot Luxe – Nothing says Hong Kong like a foot massage.  Luxe locations of this well known chain have upgraded decor and a number of private rooms that can be reserved in advance if you’re booking with a group – great if you want to gossip freely without disturbing other patrons. The treatment menu at Happy Foot includes manicure and pedicure services as well as traditional reflexology.
