Make sure your smart-phone is charged because you’re sure to want to get this on your Instagram feed! YUM CHA’s four Hong Kong branches are rolling out a new selection of bewitchingly delicious treats just in time for Halloween.
Fit for an Instagrammable feast, there are seven new creative creations making up the new, limited time offer. There’s BBQ Pork Finger Puffs – made to look like a zombie finger and priced at $49 for 3 pieces – scary on the outside but delicious on the inside. They’ve also created a scary take on traditional Har Gow and are offering steamed shrimp dumplings styled like terrifying edible eyeballs (also $49 for 3 pieces).
Meanwhile, the Steamed Mummy Sausage Buns ($49 for 2) may give you a start as they stare back at you’re eating, but the Chinese sausage wrapped in warm dough will leave you with no regrets once it hits your tastebuds.
Other snacks created for the occasion include the bat-themed Crispy Toast with Sweet & Sour Sauce ($76 for 4), a scary ‘skeleton skull’ made from a pastry puff stuffed with baked cheese, chicken, mushroom and baked beans ($69 for one) and the Crispy Cream Prawn ($89 for 4) that resembles a wrapped up mummy (see main image).
Finish off this scarily delicious feast with an order of Mochi with Chocolate & Peanuts Chip – an earthy concoction of brown sugar, chocolate and peanuts that holds a zombie character rising from the dead.
These spine-chilling snacks will be available until 31 October.
