Urgent Fundraising to Help Hong Kong’s Homeless

Right, the world's gone weird and we're all feeling a bit powerless at the moment BUT Hong Kong's homeless need your help and a simple donation could make a big difference to them!

Local charity ImpactHK takes a holistic approach to support homeless people in Hong Kong and is committed to helping them gain independence and homes of their own. ImpactHK have helped over 100 individuals into shelter over the past two years, and almost all of the individuals they’ve helped into safe living spaces are still there. This success is because the charity also provides community and friendship to support homeless friends as they rebuild their lives.

The Coronavirus is Causing Big Problems for Hong Kong’s Homeless – But You Can Help!

Here in Hong Kong McDonald’s, the fast food restaurant, has been housing hundreds and hundreds of individuals every night. People in great need sleep there every night because it’s the only safe place they have.

Due to the Covid19 outbreak McDonald’s will now be closing its doors at 6pm.

This will mean that roughly 500 individuals will be outside in strange locations tonight, cold, afraid and alone. This just isn’t acceptable!

ImpactHK’s Plan & How to Donate

ImpaktHK are running an urgent fundraising campaign to raise as much as they can over the next three days.

100% of money will be spent on hostels and small hotels.

These businesses are struggling too and this could make a huge difference for them as well.

On all of ImpactHK’s 20 Kindness Walks this week, they will offer instant accommodation to the homeless, getting them into safety and also giving ImpactHK a better opportunity to develop trust and friendship with them.

The crowdfunding platform SparkRaise have kindly offered to waive the transaction fee for your donations.
