King Yin Lei, a historic mansion built in 1937, has opened to the public through a series of free guided tours organised by the Commissioner for Heritage’s Office under the Development Bureau. The house was declared a monument in 2008 and is now included in Batch VI of the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme.

Located at 45 Stubbs Road in Wan Chai, King Yin Lei is known for its rare combination of Chinese and Western architectural design, making it one of the most distinctive historic residences in Hong Kong. The mansion allows visitors to appreciate both its architectural details and its place in the city’s development before the Second World War.

Public access is limited to scheduled docent-led tours held on selected Saturdays and Sundays. Tours are conducted in Cantonese, Putonghua, or English, with a maximum of 30 participants per session. Registration is online only, processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and updated every Monday at 10:00 am for the following two weeks. Successful applicants must present a confirmation email and identification on arrival.

The guided tour programme is currently scheduled up to 4 January 2026, with no permanent public opening announced. Visit www.heritage.gov.hk for more information.
