A new name has entered the local spirits scene. Baijiu Society, a brand born from a global community of baijiu lovers, has officially launched in Hong Kong, offering a fresh and approachable take on China’s traditional liquor. Its goal: to introduce a broader audience to the bold flavors and cultural heritage of baijiu through a collection of contemporary, mixable spirits.

Founded by Craig Butler and Bobby Tse, who first bonded over baijiu while working in China more than two decades ago, the brand blends East and West, both in origin and in flavor. Rather than simply reproducing classic Chinese baijiu, the duo teamed up with distillers across three continents to craft new expressions that honor tradition while reflecting their personal journey.

“Chinese baijiu is our inspiration,” says Butler. “We’re not here to reinvent it—it’s already perfect. What we want is to share our love for it in a way that’s accessible, whether you’ve been drinking baijiu for years or you’re just discovering it.”

Baijiu Society’s debut lineup includes six expressions fermented from barley, wheat, and sorghum, then delicately infused with natural fruit flavors. Designed for versatility, each blend can be served neat, mixed into cocktails, or paired with tonic.

  • Blend No. 01 Society features warming notes of star anise, clove, and orange oil, best served as a “B&T” (Baijiu & Tonic).
  • Blend No. 02 Life highlights peach, pear, and honey for a smooth, floral finish—ideal as a chilled shot or in a Peach Passion Martini.
  • Blend No. 03 Love mixes intense cherry with almond and pear undertones, recommended in a Hong Kong Sling.
  • Blend No. 04 Prosperity, infused with natural yuzu, brings bright citrus to classic cocktails like a Baijiu Negroni or Yuzu Spritz.
  • Blend No. 05 Unity balances lychee, melon, and pear, featured in a refined Lychee Martini.
  • Joju Dark Coffee Liqueur, made with dark-roasted coffee and baijiu, rounds out the lineup with a rich espresso profile.

💡 All products are now available through HK Liquor Store locations citywide.
