Tai Kwun has confirmed the return of InnerGlow , marking five years of large-scale light art transforming Central’s historic compound. Running from 6 to 22 February, the free nightly experience will light up the Parade Ground and Barrack Block façade from 6:30pm to 9pm, turning the site into a vibrant neon disco landscape.
This year’s theme, Discotheque Dreams, is created in collaboration with creative partner The Electric Canvas and Hong Kong design studio The Collective. The immersive production draws inspiration from disco culture’s arrival in Asia, blending pulsing beats with a visual mash-up of East and West.
Expect references to lion dances, martial arts cinema, and retro Hollywood aesthetics, all brought together through colourful projections and dynamic soundscapes.
For the first time, InnerGlow will also introduce real-time audience interaction. Visitors will be able to take part in the experience, stepping into the show alongside live performances and animated projections, adding a new layer of participation to the popular light spectacle.
Beyond InnerGlow, Tai Kwun will also bring back Searchlight, its mentorship-driven showcase supporting emerging local artists. Running alongside InnerGlow in the Prison Yard, the programme will feature new presentations by alumni artists, highlighting creative talent and innovative digital storytelling within Hong Kong’s growing arts scene.
