Fringe Festival is returning from 17 December, bringing together over 300 local and international artists across around 100 programmes at the Hong Kong Fringe Club. The festival covers eight categories, including music, dance, theatre, film, magic, stand-up comedy, family shows, and art-tech. Many of the performances were selected through an open call earlier this year.

Well-known artists include Simon Yam, pianist Nancy Loo, soprano Yuki Ip, Hong Kong’s all-female jazz big band B-JAZZ, Cheronna Ng, Lo Lok, Hong Kong Swings, and Backstage Comedy, with artists coming from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the UK, the US, France, Australia, and Taiwan.

Early programme highlights include theatre production “Cruel Descent”, electronic-acoustic concert “Volte”, the music, dance and comedy showcase “Fringe Maze: Swing & Laugh Night”, experimental performance “Alchemy of One: Taiko and Altered Sounds”, and art-tech work “EQUUS: FORM + VOID”.

Family-friendly content includes interactive concerts and performances, along with workshops developed with the Hong Kong Music Therapy Association that combine music and mindfulness.

More shows will be announced. Tickets and event details are available via www.art-mate.net.
