Hong Kong has earned a spot among the world’s Top 20 Best Cities to Live in 2026, ranking 19th globally, according to the World’s Best Cities report by Resonance Consultancy. The annual index evaluates over 270 cities based on factors such as livability, culture, prosperity, infrastructure, and online popularity. The top three spots this year were claimed by London, New York, and Paris.

According to the report, Hong Kong’s enduring appeal lies in its diversity and energy. Within a single day, residents and visitors can explore a traditional fishing village, relax on a sun-drenched beach, shop in glitzy malls or backstreet markets, enjoy world-class dining, and end the evening in one of the city’s vibrant cafés or bars.
Recent developments have strengthened its infrastructure and lifestyle appeal. The Hong Kong International Airport completed its Three-Runway System in late 2024, with an expanded Terminal 2 reopening in 2025. The AsiaWorld-Expo has refreshed its facilities, and the new Kai Tak Sports Park debuted by hosting the Hong Kong Sevens. Together, these projects underline Hong Kong’s drive to remain one of the world’s most dynamic and liveable urban destinations.
