Lamma Fun Day is returning once again this year on Saturday 15 November at Tai Wan To Beach on Lamma Island, more commonly known as Power Station Beach. Running from morning till late, the free one-day festival blends live music, charity markets and family activities, all in support of education and protection programmes for children in Nepal.
What is Lamma Fun Day?
First held in 2000, Lamma Fun Day has grown into a key date on the city’s cultural calendar. It’s always packed with islanders from Lamma and visitors from all over Hong Kong, celebrating a day at the beach… with fun!
Organised entirely by volunteers, it raises funds for Child Welfare Scheme Hong Kong (CWS HK), a charity supporting at-risk children and young women in Nepal. Past projects have tackled child trafficking, improved access to education, and provided vocational training in partnership with local organisations.
The festival raised HK$250,000 in 2024, with all proceeds going directly to Nepal-based initiatives. Entry is free and open to all ages, attracting locals, families and visitors looking for a laid-back, feel-good day out by the sea.
What’s happening at the 2025 edition?
This year marks the biggest line-up in the festival’s history, with over 45 bands, DJs and solo artists performing across four themed stages — Beach, Restaurant, Road and Star.
