The Class of 2025 at Malvern College Hong Kong is celebrating a double milestone this summer: a stellar set of IB results and more than 70 university offers from top institutions across the globe.

One student achieved the maximum score of 45 out of 45, with four others close behind at 43. Over one-third of the cohort scored 40 points or more, while 28% were awarded the bilingual diploma. Subjects like Design Technology, Music, Physics, and Geography saw students averaging over 6 points. More than 70% of the cohort also earned two or more bonus points through the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay components.

Speaking about this year’s results, Headmaster Paul Wickes, who was interviewed by The HK HUB when he became Malvern College Hong Kong’s headmaster, said the achievements represent far more than strong academics.

“We are immensely proud of our 2025 cohort’s achievements,” he said. “These impressive results represent more than academic milestones – they showcase the strength of Malvern’s holistic education model. This year also holds special significance as it marks the first cohort of students completing their entire secondary journey with us since we launched the school in 2018. By nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience across all disciplines, we equip our students with the skillsets and qualities needed to thrive at top universities and in life beyond the classroom.”

Students secured places at renowned institutions including University of Chicago, Northwestern University (scholarship), UC San Diego, University College London, King’s College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Warwick, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, Monash University, and University of the Arts London.

In Hong Kong, local acceptances include a Dual Degree in Law from University of Hong Kong and University College London, Medicine programmes at both University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Quantitative Finance programmes at CUHK and HKUST.

The results reflect not only the students’ determination and resilience but also the support of their families and the dedication of Malvern’s teaching staff.

As they move on to the next chapter, the Class of 2025 leaves a strong legacy as the first full cohort to complete their secondary education entirely at Malvern College Hong Kong — a milestone year for both the students and the school.
