The Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station, one of Hong Kong’s few surviving pre-war police stations, will open to visitors from 2 to 31 January 2026. Completed in 1922, the building features British Edwardian architecture and is classified as a Grade II historic building.
During the month-long exhibition, the public will be able to move through selected interior spaces of the former police station, including detention cells and other operational areas rarely accessible to visitors. Several rooms have been adapted into walk-through environments that reflect how police stations have been portrayed in Hong Kong police and crime films across different eras.
The site has a long history as a filming backdrop, with its exterior frequently appearing in local cinema over the decades. The exhibition is part of a government-led initiative introduced in 2024 to activate historic sites and attract visitors by repurposing culturally significant locations.
