The red leaves season at Tai Lam Country Park officially started with the launch of the Red Leaves Express, a seasonal nature programme organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.

Running until 11 January, the programme takes place on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, at Tai Tong Sweet Gum Wood in Tai Lam Country Park. The sweet gum woods are expected to show their strongest colour change between Christmas and the New Year.

Visitors can take part in nature interpretation sessions held from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on event days at Tai Tong Sweet Gum Wood and designated areas opposite the Tai Tong Management Centre. The programme also features photo exhibitions, game booths and hiking etiquette promotion. All activities are subject to weather conditions and may be suspended or discontinued without prior notice.

To manage visitor flow during the programme period, special transport arrangements and intermittent road closures will be implemented. A section of Tai Tong Shan Road between the Pavilion and the Tai Tong Shan Road Car Park will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on event days.

Special bus services, including MTR Bus Route K66A and KMB Route 68R on selected dates, will operate to facilitate public access, with both routes dropping passengers near the pavilion on Tai Tong Shan Road, followed by a moderate 3.5 km walk of around 60 minutes to reach Tai Tong Sweet Gum Wood.
