From 11 to 17 February 2026, more than 14 Lunar New Year flower markets organised by the government will take place across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, starting about a week before Chinese New Year. Alongside these official fairs, there will also be many other independent markets and festive events happening across the city to mark the Year of the Horse.

Lunar New Year fairs in Hong Kong are about more than CNY flowers and plants. They are also great places to shop for festive decorations and enjoy local Chinese New Year snacks. If you are planning to visit one to decorate your home for the season, here is the ultimate list to get you started.

Kai Tak Sports Park adds to the festive calendar with a waterfront Chinese New Year market at Dining Cove. Set along the harbourfront promenade, the outdoor market features stalls selling New Year flowers, decorations, handwritten fai chun, small gifts, and festive snacks. Visit this family-friendly and pet-friendly market and pick up seasonal essentials by the water.

Cheung Sha Wan Playground is a popular venue in Sham Shui Po, frequently used for events like the Lunar New Year Fair. Facilities include football, basketball, and volleyball courts, plus a roller-skating rink. The upcoming fair features 88 stalls, including fast food stalls.

Yuen Wo Playground (Sha Tin) — Feb 11–17

Over in Sha Tin, the Lunar New Year fair will be held at Yuen Wo Playground, not far from New Town Plaza. With 75 wet and dry goods stalls, the waterfront venue is accessible via the cycling track. There are various shops in Sha Tin and Tai Wai where you can rent a bicycle for the day. On the second day of Chinese New Year marks the birth of Che Kung.
