MTR is offering children aged 3-11 years old free trips to Shenzhen via the Lo Wu and Kok Ma Chau stations from July 17-August 31.

All children in this age group who have Child Octopus cards may redeem their free rides at the digital service kiosks or self-service redemption machines in the unpaid areas of the Lo Wu and Kok Ma Chau stations.

Passengers using the digital service kiosks should select the “Other Promotion” option on the main page, and then click the “Collect” button on the “Free cross boundary ride for children” offer page.

Travellers should then place the Child Octopus card over the kiosk reader and wait for confirmation that they have successfully collected the free ride.

Children may get their next free cross-border trip after completing any rides they have redeemed at the MTR stations. However, they may not claim free trips on the Airport Express or the Light Rail.

MTR is also giving away a total of 75,000 free single-journey tickets on the Airport Express in July. The rail corporation gave away 25,000 passes on July 11, and will give away another 25,000 on July 18. The last distribution drive will be on July 25.
