Hong Kong rail corporation MTR is giving away a total of 75,000 free single-journey tickets on the Airport Express in July to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the service, which takes passengers between Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong Island in 24 minutes.

How do I win the passes?

Registered users of on the MTR Mobile app can get a promo code at 12pm on July 11, 18, and 25 to redeem one child or adult ticket, valued at up to HK$110, on a first-come-first-served basis. There will be 25,000 tickets given out on each of these days.

Which routes can I use the passes on?

The single-journey tickets can be used for trips to or from Hong Kong, Kowloon, Tsing Yi, and the Airport stations. The giveaway does not apply to trips to or from AsiaWorld-Expo.

The Airport Express will also resume its full pre-Covid schedule and run at 10-minute intervals throughout the day, starting July 5.

In addition, Cathay Pacific will reopen its in-town check-in counters at Hong Kong Station on July 5. The downtown check-in service will operate from 6am-3pm every day.

MTR is also running a daily giveaway until July 12. Registered users on the rail corporation’s app get the chance to win one of 5,000 prizes every day – including free MTR annual and single-ride passes – as part of the Happy Hong Kong campaign.
