The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) is bringing back its annual dog-walking charity event, Dogathon, on March 26. This year, the event will be held at the Art Park in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

The theme for the 2023 Dogathon is Sunshine Walk, and there will be several installations for participants and their canine friends to pose in front of before they begin the walk. In addition, the event will feature the PET X Handicraft Marketplace, SPCA Charity Sales, a Wishing and Lock Wall, a Woof and Bricks Art Walk, Agility Games, and educational talks about pet care by professionals.

Participants can enter the event as individuals or as teams. While all applicants will receive a T-shirt and bandana, everyone who completes the walk will receive limited-edition medals and a certificate of appreciation.

Pet parents and their dogs who reach specific donation amounts will take home special gifts such as calendars and online dog care courses, and teams who raise an average of HK$1,000 per person will get a one-hour-long pet-friendly ride on the Star Ferry with their dog.

This is the first time the Dogathon has been held since 2020, when Hong Kong Disneyland Resort played host to the event.
