The Grounds at AIA Vitality Park in Central will return on October 12 with an eclectic line-up of cinematic hits, ranging from international blockbusters to sleeper hits. Cinema buffs can watch films like Everything Everywhere All At Once, La La Land, A Guilty Conscience, and Anita under the stars against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s iconic cityscape.
The schedule for October 12-22 has been released and will kick off with the 1995 hit Clueless, followed by other movies from the ’90s such as The Bodyguard and Matilda. Fans of ’80s films can also catch the 1984 hit Ghostbusters and the Robin Williams classic Good Morning Vietnam. There are also more contemporary films on the line-up, such as Avatar: The Way of the Water and Lego Movie.
Future schedules of The Grounds will include the international premiere of Greatest Days, the film based on the musical of the same name about iconic boy band Take That, as well as cult classics like The Shawshank Redemption and E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. There will also be screenings of local gems, including A Guilty Conscience, Anita, and Table of 6.
Movie-goers will get high-fidelity screening headphones that will bring the cinematic audio to life, and get an elevated “pre-theatre” experience and a curated beverage selection. Thanks to The Grounds’ collaboration with BaseHall, cinema lovers will get to sample eclectic dishes such as burgers, Thai dishes, Japanese ramen, and gelato.
This year, The Grounds is introducing new features to their three ticket sections: Classic, Prime, and Luxe. Guests who buy Classic tickets can opt for solo deck chairs, while those with Prime tickets get a two-person option with premium bean bags. The Grounds has partnered with The Upper House to present a special luxe bed option for couples, complete with complimentary house red, white, or Champagne.
