Wellcome has transformed its Prosperous Garden supermarket in Yau Ma Tei into a nostalgia concept store. The refreshed branch sits opposite the Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station and has been redesigned with retro décor inspired by Hong Kong in the 1950s to 1970s.
Bring back memories

Alongside regular supermarket shopping, the store now includes photo corners, heritage-style displays, and a souvenir zone featuring store-only items and limited-time promotions.

The experience starts outside, where neon-inspired LED signage and mirrored tiles set a vintage tone. Inside, shoppers enter through a classic-style turnstile and walk into a “time tunnel” area with old-school details such as red plastic lamps, a retro television photo spot, an old-style telephone display, vintage grocery scenes, and street-sign style décor.

The concept is designed to bring back familiar Hong Kong memories while also giving tourists a clear snapshot of the city’s past retail culture.

Retro collabs and limited souvenirs
Wellcome is also using the store to launch themed souvenirs and collaborations. A limited-edition Wellcome Retro Eco Bag can be redeemed for HK$28, with a single purchase of HK$100 or more. Other promotions include a Wellcome x Goods of Desire Lunar New Year “Lucky Set” priced at HK$68, and a SMEG mini container offer running from 6 to 19 February 2026, subject to purchase requirements and stock.

Several brand tie-ins will run for a limited period, including a Lee Kum Kee capsule machine promotion until 31 March 2026, warm Vitasoy served in glass bottles with related spending rewards until 31 March 2026, and glass-bottled Coca-Cola sold from a vintage-style fridge in store.
