Chinese Culture Festival 2026 will return from June to September across Hong Kong, with 55 events spanning performances and cultural activities built around Chinese legends and folklore.

This year also puts Sui–Tang culture and the ancient capital Luoyang in focus. The programme includes stage shows, screenings, exhibitions and community activities across Hong Kong, with a mix of paid and free events.

The opening stage highlight is dance drama Lady White Snake by Shanghai Grand Theatre, which blends ballet with Chinese dance while keeping iconic story scenes.

Opera is a core strand of the festival, with Zhong Kui the Ghosteater presented by the Hebei Bangzi Opera Theatre of Hebei Province as part of the Chinese Opera Festival programme.

Later in the season, Harmony in Eternal Melody by Hubei Opera and Dance Drama Theater brings a music-led production featuring recreated ancient instruments. The festival also includes the acrobatic drama Acrobatic Spectacle of Ancient Tang, which uses large-scale stunts to evoke Tang-era spectacle.

Several events are scheduled at major cultural venues such as Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong City Hall and district town halls, alongside community and school activities.
