The third Happy Hong Kong Gourmet Marketplace will open on June 3 and 4. The free-to-enter two-day event will be held at the Vessel in Kwun Tong from 10am-8pm and will focus on fine-dining Asian cuisine.
There will be 65 booths at which visitors can sample gourmet Asian food. The event will also feature several performances, cooking demonstrations, children’s games, and large-scale “check-in” spots to take pictures at.
The first market, which took place in April at the Exhibition & Convention Centre in Wan Chai, featured more than 100 stalls that served hot food and packaged snacks. The second market, which was held at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza and Sha Tin Park in May, had 50 food stalls that served traditional Chinese dishes.
The Kwun Tong event is the last of the officially announced Gourmet Marketplaces for this year so far. However, Financial Secretary Paul Chan mentioned that there would be more such events in the second half of the year when he unveiled plans for Phase 2 of the 2023 Consumption Voucher Scheme earlier this week.
The Happy Hong Kong campaign aims to give residents of the SAR and visitors to the city a chance to experience new recreational and leisure activities in the coming year.
Other highlights of the initiative include free events such as Chill All Night at Ocean Park that will take place every Saturday in June, the Harbour Chill Carnival at Wan Chai Promenade during weekends in July to August, and the Sports Carnival during the 2023 Olympic Day and Asian Games Fun Run on June 18.
