The Updated List Of Hong Kong’s Government Designated Quarantine Hotels

Update: As of 26 September 2022, Hong Kong’s hotel quarantine policy has ended.

Since December 2020, Hong Kong has designated certain hotels as quarantine facilities for incoming travellers. Quarantine started at 14 days long and at its peak, reached 21 days. In order to enter the city, you must be a Hong Kong resident or study/work visa holder, fully vaccinated, and quarantine four days at a hotel and then three days at home, effective 12 August 2022.

The following list of Hong Kong’s 8th cycle designated quarantine hotels (DQH) is valid for quarantine periods from 1 August 2022 to 31 October 2022. If the last day of your planned quarantine falls after the validity period, it’s best to wait for the next list to be released before you make your booking, as some hotels will be removed and others added. Nearly all quarantine packages offer 3 meals a day, with a 10% service charge reflected in the total booking price.

The hotels are listed in descending order from highest to lowest prices per night for non-suite, one-person (single) rooms.

Renovated in 2006, the renowned Mandarin Hotel was the tallest building on Hong Kong Island when it opened in 1963. The standard room is 42m². CM+ is made up of the North Tower, opened in 2016, and the recently opened South Tower. The standard room size is 32m². Amenities include a kitchenette with a microwave, induction stove, basic pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, and cutting board, as well as an air purification unit. Note that the meal package is extremely basic (think packaged noodles, biscuits, and bottled water). Instead, you can opt out of the package and cook your own meals, but there will be an extra fee for grocery/food deliveries to be brought to your door.

Their “We Care” quarantine package includes Chinese, Western, and vegetarian options for meals, complimentary welcome gift set, and in-room coffee and tea facilities. Room sizes range from 24m² to 33m² and kids aged 3 and below stay for free. If you’re able to curb FOMO over having perfect views of Ocean Park visitors as they roam the theme park, this will be a comfortable option.

The more expensive counterpart to Ovolo Southside, Ovolo Central is smaller but travellers can be comforted by the overwhelmingly positive reviews the Southern Island location has received for its high quality service and thoughtful extras like the daily happy hour drink and snack.
