From October 31 to November 8, Cartier is taking over Villa Haw Par in Tai Hang with Into The Wild, an immersive experience built around its animal-inspired creations.

Expect a journey through Cartier’s world of panthers and other wildlife, where Eastern and Western influences meet the craftsmanship of its workshops. Entry is by online registration only, so booking ahead is a must.

A Tiger And Leopard Villa For An Animal-Themed Show

It is hard to imagine a better match. In Chinese, Villa Haw Par is known as the Tiger and Leopard Villa, and it was built in 1935 by Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the brothers who made Tiger Balm a household name.

Haw Par Mansion reopens for free guided tours

The mansion at 15A Tai Hang Road is a Grade I historic building, with Chinese roofs and balconies sitting on a Western-style structure. After years behind closed doors, it opened again this autumn as an arts and culture venue, as we reported in May when its reopening was announced.

From K11 MUSEA To Tai Hang

Details of what will fill the villa’s rooms have not been announced to date. The timing, however, lines up with Cartier’s new Into The Wild high jewellery collection, featuring a tiger, a parrot, a carp, a crocodile and a rhinoceros.

For a first look, you can already wander through Cartier’s immersive Into The Wild jungle experience online and follow the panther from piece to piece.

Hong Kong has seen the concept before. In 2021, from October 27 to November 14, Cartier filled 12 rooms at K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui with the story of its Panthère. Visitors moved through mirrored corridors, archive pieces and craft spaces before reaching a showroom of limited creations.
