Children who have watched a HYROX race from the sidelines will have a chance to compete themselves in Hong Kong this January. HYROX Youngstars is coming to AsiaWorld-Expo on 9 and 10 January 2027, with a fitness race built for ages 8 to 15.
The format combines short runs with exercises such as rowing and sled pushes, adjusted for different age groups. Parents can register for ticket alerts, although entry prices and the sale date have yet to be announced.
What Is HYROX Youngstars?
HYROX Youngstars is a fitness competition designed for children, with a race format adapted from the adult HYROX events.

There are four age divisions: 8–9, 10–11, 12–13 and 14–15, with separate races for boys and girls. A child’s age on race day determines which category they enter.
Previous competition experience is not required, and families who want to prepare can request a free 12-week training plan from HYROX.
How Does the HYROX Youngstars Race Work?
Each participant takes on eight fitness stations, including a ski machine, sled push and pull, jumping exercises, rowing, weighted carries, lunges and squats or wall balls.

Younger children complete frogger jumps instead of burpees, while participants aged 12 and over tackle wall balls. Running distances, repetitions and weights also change depending on the age group.
The provisional schedule divides the competition across two days:
- Saturday, 9 January 2027: Children aged 8–11.
- Sunday, 10 January 2027: Children aged 12–15.
Individual race start times have not yet been confirmed.
What Parents Need to Know Before Race Day
The competition takes place at AsiaWorld-Expo, near Hong Kong International Airport, on 9 and 10 January 2027.
Ticket sales have not opened yet, but families can sign up for email alerts through the official event website. Each child must be accompanied by a registered parent or legal guardian, and one guardian ticket is included in the entry fee.
On race day, families should arrive at least 60 minutes before their assigned warm-up time. Both the child and guardian need valid identification, along with the ticket QR code.
Young athletes will attend a compulsory 25-minute warm-up before competing, and guardians must collect them from the designated finish area.
Spectator tickets also provide access to the adult HYROX event taking place on the same day. Entries are non-refundable, although an optional Flex Add-On allows participants to transfer their entry to another child of the same age and gender, up to the day before the race.
Ticket prices, sales dates and final race times will be released closer to the event. Families can find more information and register for ticket alerts on the official HYROX Youngstars Hong Kong website.
