The world’s largest cosmetics group, L’Oréal, is adjusting its Hong Kong e-commerce strategy, with several brand websites confirming that their local online stores will operate only until August 18, 2026.
The change means customers who usually buy directly from these official Hong Kong web stores will soon need to use other sales channels across the city later this year.
Affected L’Oréal Brands
At the moment, affected brands include Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, ARMANI beauty, Aesop, Kiehl’s and shu uemura. Their announcements are broadly similar, stating that the current Hong Kong official online stores will stop operating from August 18.
After that date, shoppers will need to buy products through physical boutiques, department store beauty counters or the brands’ official Tmall flagship stores instead.
Member Points Arrangement
For existing members, the main reassurance is that brand member points will remain valid. According to the notices, customers will still be able to redeem and use their points at official physical stores and counters across Hong Kong after the online stores close.
Customers who usually shop online may want to check each brand’s website before August 18 for final order details, store locations and the latest arrangements.
