Central’s former Ovolo hotel is preparing for a new chapter. The Lan Kwai Fong, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is taking over the property, with reservations open for stays from 1 January 2027.
There will be 41 rooms across 21 floors, making it a small addition to Hilton’s Hong Kong portfolio. Tai Kwun and Lan Kwai Fong are nearby, putting cultural venues, restaurants and nightlife within walking distance. Hilton has not confirmed whether it will open before the first bookable date.
A Closer Look At The Rooms And Suites

Inside, the rooms combine a warm colour scheme with playful details. The photos show patterned headboards, wood panelling and orange sofas, alongside king and twin bed options.
Guest rooms measure around 33 square metres, while the larger Lan Kwai Fong suites offer 65 square metres. Their lounge areas appear in the images with curved red seating, marble coffee tables and a bar counter. The sitting space gives guests somewhere to read, work or spend time together without using the bed.
Sichuan Dining, Cocktails And Hotel Facilities

The new hotel’s only dining venue will be Heaven and Earth, which brings together two concepts: modern Sichuan-Chinese cuisine at Earth and classic cocktails at Heaven, inspired by recipes dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The venue’s opening date has yet to be confirmed.
Guests will have access to a fitness centre and free Wi-Fi. Buffet breakfast is available for an additional charge, while check-in starts at 3pm and check-out is at noon.
Hilton currently operates three branded hotels in Hong Kong, with The Lan Kwai Fong becoming its fourth. Rooms can be reserved for stays from 1 January 2027 through the official Hilton website.
The planned opening follows another major hotel makeover in Central, with Mandarin Oriental The Landmark reopening on 1 June 2026 after an extensive renovation.
