Families looking for a meaningful summer day out now have another option, as Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden is celebrating its 70th anniversary with free admission from July 15 to September 14.

The offer gives visitors a chance to explore the Tai Po nature landmark, enjoy anniversary activities, and spend a slower day surrounded by plants, wildlife and hillside views.

70th Anniversary Activities at Kadoorie Farm

The anniversary programme includes three curated experiences designed to help visitors explore KFBG at their own pace.

The “Awakening of Memory: Ethnobotanical Stories of Tai Mo Shan” exhibition looks at the relationship between native plants, traditional knowledge and communities connected to the mountain.

Families can also follow a self-guided summer tour highlighting seasonal wildlife across the grounds.

For those who want to go deeper into the site’s story, the “KFBG 70th Anniversary: A Journey of Awakening and Discovery” exhibition and heritage walk traces the farm’s transformation from barren hillside to conservation haven.

Free Entry Registration

Free admission is available for visits from July 15 to September 14, and advance online registration is required. Visitors need to register on the official website, provide basic details and select the number of free admission tickets needed.

On the day, they must show the confirmation email to enter for free. The offer covers adults, children, seniors and eligible disabled visitors, saving up to HK$50 per adult ticket and HK$25 per child ticket. Advance registration is recommended, especially for families hoping to secure spots on specific dates.
