The Hong Kong government announced that two new recreation facilities will open in Yuen Long. The public can use a new pool and playground managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department at Tin Sau Road, starting August 28. The new spaces are close to the Hong Kong Wetland Park, and will include Yuen Long’s first jacuzzi in a government-run swimming pool venue.
The highlight of the Tin Sau Road Swimming Pool’s outdoor facilities is the main pool measuring 50 metres x 25 metres and a spectator stand that can seat 700. Visitors can also use the training pool that measures 25 metres by 15 metres. Those who prefer to stay indoors can use the heated training pool and a jacuzzi. The pools are open from 6:30am-10pm, with two hour-long breaks at 12pm and 6pm.
The adventure-themed Tin Sau Road Playground next to the swimming pool has a six-metre-high giant slide, a three-metre-high climbing wall, swings, rope climbing nets, outdoor fitness equipment, and a carousel designed for wheelchair users. The pool and playground are within a five-minute walk from the Tin Sau Light Rail Station and Wetland Park Light Rail Station.
