Kennedy Town’s much-loved Mexican restaurant 11 Westside appears to have closed suddenly, with no announcement shared on its official channels.
The restaurant, which opened in August 2017, operated in the neighbourhood for nearly a decade and became a familiar spot for tacos, cocktails and group dinners before signs of closure emerged this week.
11 Westside was founded by chef and restaurateur Esdras Ochoa, known internationally for Netflix’s The Final Table. Located at The Hudson on Davis Street, the restaurant became known for its Mexicali-style tacos, sharing plates, cocktails and relaxed neighbourhood energy.
The venue stretched across more than 4,000 sq. ft., with two bars, outdoor seating, private booths and a spacious dining area, making it one of Kennedy Town’s more recognisable restaurant openings over the past decade.
Customers began reporting on July 28 that 11 Westside appeared to be closed, with the venue reportedly shut and its lights turned off. Its reservation system is also no longer accepting bookings, while no formal closure announcement has been posted online.
The apparent closure comes shortly after the brand expanded overseas, with 11 Westside opening a Singapore branch at Asia Square Tower 1 in May. That launch brought the Mexican restaurant’s Los Angeles-inspired taco culture, Baja California flavours and cocktails to Singapore’s CBD, making the sudden situation in Hong Kong especially unexpected for regular diners.
