Hong Kong Fashion Fest returns this September with two weeks of runway shows, designer showcases, industry events and fashion-focused activities across the city. The programme brings together local and international designers, brands and creative talent, with CENTRESTAGE forming one of its key highlights. Expect a mix of public-facing events and industry programmes designed to spotlight Hong Kong’s growing role as a fashion and design hub in Asia.

Margarita Mile Hong Kong — September 1-16
Margarita Mile returns this September with a two-week cocktail trail connecting 10 of Hong Kong’s favourite bars. Pick up a passport, order each venue’s featured margarita and collect stamps along the way, with rewards starting from five stops. Complete all 10 and you could even win a trip for two to Tequila, Mexico. The celebrations wrap up with a Mexican Independence Day closing party at Honky Tonks Tavern.

CENTRESTAGE — September 2-5
Hong Kong’s flagship fashion showcase returns to Wan Chai with its biggest edition yet, bringing together around 270 brands from 24 countries and regions. More than 30 fashion shows will run across four days, alongside designer showcases, trend talks and emerging talent. Highlights include the opening CENTRESTAGE ELITES show featuring KIT WAN STUDIOS, the Fashion Hong Kong runway and a new Hype² pavilion focused on streetwear and youth culture.

Yu Lan Cultural Festival — September 4-6
The Yu Lan Cultural Festival returns to Victoria Park with three days celebrating Hong Kong’s Hungry Ghost Festival traditions. Visitors can explore exhibitions, workshops, cultural tours and competitions centred around festival offerings and treats, while learning more about customs preserved by the city’s Chiu Chow communities. This year also introduces Cross Beyond, an immersive interactive theatre experience that gives the centuries-old festival a more contemporary twist.

Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival — September 4-20
Hong Kong’s longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival returns for its 37th edition with one of its biggest programmes yet, featuring 37 feature films and 38 shorts from around the world. This year, films are grouped by mood rather than genre, from LOVE and LAUGH to THRILL and PRIDE. Highlights include opening films Stop! That! Train! and Montréal, My Beautiful, plus local shorts and filmmaker Q&As throughout the festival.

Ocean Park Halloween Fest — September 5-November 1
Ocean Park goes all-in on haunted experiences this Halloween. Enter Jackson Wang’s crystal-cursed Under the Castle, explore the distorted 3D world of Voodoo Boo Terror Park, step inside Hong Kong cult horror with Troublesome Night 8 and follow phantom screams through Forbidden Asylum. There’s also Dark Ride: Bumper Blaster, the Nightmare Game Booth and OPPA Scaremonies, where Korean performers transform into the underworld boy band Demoon King.

CAVALLUNA – Gate to the Otherworld — September 8–13
Saddle up for spectacular equestrian theatre. Cavalluna brings 54 horses – Andalusians, Friesians, Lusitanos and more – to Kai Tak Arena for a fantasy-filled live show. Follow young sorceress Meerin’s adventure through choreographed formations, liberty routines, trick riding and the thrilling Hungarian Post. With dramatic lighting, music, dancers and large sets, it’s a family-friendly show of horsemanship and storytelling across eight performances.

FLOCKFEST — September 11-13
Craft beer, indie music and local food come together at PMQ for three days of FLOCKFEST. Hosted by Black Kite Brewery, the festival brings eight breweries from Hong Kong and Japan together, pouring more than 50 beers across 20 taps, including eight limited-edition collaborations. Between tastings, catch live sets from Hong Kong indie artists, grab food from local favourites and explore pop-ups and creative workshops throughout the weekend.

Herzog & de Meuron: In Focus — September 12 onwards
Celebrate M+’s fifth anniversary with an intimate look at the architects who designed the museum itself. This focused display presents newly donated models, drawings and material samples from Herzog & de Meuron, spotlighting their Chinese projects including M+, Tai Kwun and Beijing’s National Stadium.
Shown in replica wooden vitrines inspired by the firm’s own archive, it offers a rare glimpse into the creative process behind some of Asia’s most recognisable buildings.

Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival — September 17-October 11
Victoria Park will light up for Mid-Autumn with colourful installations inspired by Hong Kong culture and lantern traditions from around the world. Expect a giant glowing moon, lotus and fish displays, pandas, horses and lanterns shaped like local favourites including egg waffles, milk tea and dim sum. The programme also includes a creative market, special evening events and appearances by the famous Tai Hang Fire Dragon.

Disney Halloween Time — September 18-November 1
Hong Kong Disneyland gets a wicked makeover this Halloween as Disney Villains take over the park for Party Like a Villain. Expect the return of Let’s Get Wicked, Maleficent leading the expanded Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party, and appearances from Cruella, The Queen and other familiar troublemakers. Guests can also dress up, go trick-or-treating and try limited-edition Halloween food, while Jack Skellington hosts The Nightmare Before Dinner.

Hong Kong Happy Fun Time Show — September 22
Think you know Hong Kong? This English-language comedy panel show puts that to the test with games, local references and plenty of audience laughs. Hosted by comedian Garron Chiu, Hong Kong Happy Fun Time Show heads to the 394-seat Shouson Theatre for a one-night edition as part of Hong Kong Comedy Season 2026, bringing its distinctly local humour to a bigger stage.

Asia+ Festival — September 23-November 29
Asia+ Festival returns with more than 100 performances and activities celebrating cultures from across Asia and beyond. Spanning music, dance, theatre, exhibitions and outdoor events, the programme brings artists from over 30 countries and regions to venues around Hong Kong. Highlights range from Vietnamese acrobatic dance and Balinese gamelan to contemporary cross-cultural collaborations, giving audiences plenty of ways to experience traditional art forms reimagined for today.

Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance — September 24-26
One of Hong Kong’s most spectacular Mid-Autumn traditions returns to Tai Hang for three nights this September. The neighbourhood comes alive as the incense-covered fire dragon winds through the streets, accompanied by drums, performers and crowds gathering to watch the centuries-old ritual. On September 25, the dragon will also make a special appearance at Victoria Park, bringing the celebration beyond Tai Hang for one night.

Chinese Culture Festival 2026 — Until September
Chinese Culture Festival 2026 runs from June to September across Hong Kong, with 55 events. The programme explores Chinese legends, with Sui–Tang culture and Luoyang in focus. Highlights include Lady White Snake, Zhong Kui the Ghosteater, Harmony in Eternal Melody and Acrobatic Spectacle of Ancient Tang. Expect performances, film screenings, talks and exhibitions at major venues across the city weekly.

ULTRAMAN EXHIBITION — Until September 13
Celebrate 60 years of ULTRAMAN at this lively summer exhibition at INCUBASE Arena in Mong Kok. From the very first hero in 1966 to the newest characters, the show brings together classic scenes, original costumes and hands-on experiences for fans of all ages. There are also fun interactive zones, including a transformation station, monster ball pit and drawing wall, making it a bright, family-friendly day out.

Barminski Solo Exhibition | Runway 51 — Until September 19
Step into a full-scale cardboard airport and question who’s really watching. American artist Barminski turns JPS Gallery into “Runway 51”, an immersive illusion where security checks, departure lounges and even the restroom mirror open onto cosmic conspiracies. Aliens appear as everyday workers and quiet companions rather than invaders, blending humour, speculation and everyday transit. It’s a playful, thought-provoking journey that leaves you wondering about the travellers we pass every day.

Better Together – Partnering Up for Hong Kong Movies — Until October 4
This new featured exhibition at Tai Kwun elebrates the spirit of “拍住上” (paak zyu soeng), which translates to “better together”, the quintessential Hong Kong value of partnering up and supporting one another through challenges.
The exhibition explores this theme through decades of classic Hong Kong films, from chivalrous tales like Black Rose to high-octane action blockbusters. It showcases iconic props, recreates legendary action scenes, and reveals the teamwork and ingenuity behind the city’s cinematic legacy — a powerful reflection of Hong Kong’s enduring team spirit both on and off screen.

City of Lights: Hong Kong’s Neon Heritage — Until October 4
Blue Lotus Gallery shines a light on Hong Kong’s disappearing neon heritage through Keith Macgregor’s vivid archive of the city in the 1990s and 2000s. Visitors can explore photographs of glowing streets, shopfronts and skyline signs from an era when neon shaped Hong Kong’s visual identity. The exhibition also marks the launch of City of Lights, a new book documenting the craft, stories and people behind the city’s iconic signs.

Precious Coral, From Curiosity to Treasures — Until October 11

Illuminations at The Peak — Until June 6, 2027
HSBC Life Illuminations at The Peak debuts as Hong Kong’s highest light-and-sound spectacle, transforming The Peak into an immersive evening experience. Inspired by Hong Kong’s heritage and city landmarks, the show combines festive visuals, dazzling projections and music, with The Peak Tower reimagined as the character Peakie alongside HSBC’s iconic lions Stephen and Stitt. Visitors can catch the free nightly show at Peak Road Garden outside The Peak Tower, where each session runs for around 10 minutes and begins every hour from 7pm to 9pm.

Upcoming Events in Hong Kong — Save the Dates
National Day Fireworks Display — October 1
Victoria Harbour will light up for National Day with a major fireworks display stretching across the skyline between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. The show begins at 8pm and is expected to last around 23 minutes, with popular viewing spots including the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, West Kowloon Cultural District, Central Waterfront and Tamar Park. Arrive early if you want a good spot, as the harbourfront usually gets busy well before the first fireworks.

TEDxTinHau Women — October 2
Hong Kong’s biggest TEDx returns for its 10th year with the theme UNCHARTED. Expect 13 speakers delivering bold ideas on everything from cancer and water to inclusive design and living beyond limits. New this year are intimate Quests – expert-led workshops and excursions that take you beyond the main stage.

Hong Kong Cyclothon — October 11
Hong Kong’s biggest annual cycling event returns this October, giving riders the rare chance to pedal through major roads usually packed with traffic. More than 6000 cyclists are expected to take on either the new 56km route or the 32km ride, passing iconic bridges, tunnels and harbour views. Back at West Kowloon, the Cyclothon Carnival will keep the atmosphere going with sports, entertainment, family activities and food throughout the day.

Victoria Harbour Race — November 15
One of Hong Kong’s most iconic sporting traditions returns for a special 120th anniversary edition this November. Around 4000 swimmers will take on the roughly one-kilometre crossing of Victoria Harbour, racing from Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui with the city skyline all around them. Participants can join either the competitive Racing Group or the more relaxed Leisure Group, which also offers team applications for groups of two to four swimmers.

NBA China Games — October 9 & 11
NBA basketball returns to Macau this October, with the Dallas Mavericks facing the Houston Rockets in two preseason games at The Venetian Arena. Fans can catch stars including Kyrie Irving, Cooper Flagg, Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun live on court, alongside halftime performances by K-pop group KiiiKiii. The weekend also includes NBA Fan Day on October 10, featuring players, skills challenges, a three-point contest and live entertainment.

Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival — October 29-November 1
One of Hong Kong’s biggest food and drink events returns to the Central Harbourfront for four days of wine, food and live entertainment. More than 300 booths will bring together wines from around the world, while the Tasting Room welcomes chefs including Edward Lee, Thierry Marx, Chen Zhi Ping and Justin Yang Yan Bin. A new “Only in Hong Kong” Flavours showcase will also feature dishes from more than 100 restaurants across the city.

Sneaker Con Macau 2026 — October 10 & 11
Sneaker Con makes its Macau debut this October, bringing two days of sneaker culture, collecting and trading to Grand Lisboa Palace. More than 50 global vendors are expected, alongside rare sneakers, streetwear, limited-edition drops and dedicated buying and trading zones. Visitors can also check out free sneaker authentication, Trading Card Alley, giveaways and prizes, while a concert and special guests will add to the weekend atmosphere.

Myths and Monsters: The Art of Fantasy in Asia — October 17-April 4
M+ explores how fantasy has shaped Asian visual culture across more than a century in this major exhibition spanning art, manga, anime, film, fashion, architecture and digital culture. The show moves from Japanese ukiyo-e, Chinese shadow puppetry and Tibetan Buddhist scrolls to Surrealism, post-war manga and today’s globally influential anime aesthetics, revealing how imaginary worlds have long helped artists respond to real social and political change.
