UPDATE: This article was updated with ticketing details about the SHINee World VI: Perfect Illumination Asia Hong Kong concert.
The Princes of K-Pop, SHINee, will return to Hong Kong for the first time since 2017 to take the stage at AsiaWorld-Arena on March 16, 2024. The concert is part of their SHINee World VI: Perfect Illumination Asia tour, which they embarked on in mid-2023. This is the band’s first tour after a hiatus brought on by mandatory military service and Covid-19.
The band — comprising Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin — has already performed in South Korea and Japan, and will come to Hong Kong after 2024 dates in Japan and Singapore. They kicked off the tour in June 2023 just before the release of their eighth studio album Hard, which was released to mark their 15th anniversary. The 10-track album has been certified platinum in Korea.
This is the third time that SHINee will come on tour to Hong Kong, after their world tours in 2012 and 2017. Tickets are priced at HK$699, HK$899, HK$1,099, HK$1,499, and HK$2,099, and are available on Live Nation from January 29 onwards. Concert-goers who purchase the VIP tickets will get early entry, access to a soundcheck party, and exclusive merch, among other perks.
Earlier this year, K-pop band Blackpink performed in Hong Kong, the first time that the city hosted a major international act since the Covid-19 pandemic. The four-member band held two concerts in the city as part of their Born Pink World Tour, which was the largest by a K-pop girl group.
