St Mary’s Calne, one of the UK’s leading independent girls’ boarding schools, will host an exclusive admissions event in Hong Kong this autumn. Families are invited to meet Head Mrs Anne Wakefield on October 17 at The Conrad Hotel.
Inside Life at St Mary’s Calne
Located just over an hour from London Heathrow and set in a 27-acre plot in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, St Mary’s Calne is often described as “small but mighty.”
With around 350 girls from more than 30 countries, the school offers full boarding from Year 5 to Year 13, as well as an Early Start Boarding Programme at St Margaret’s Prep for girls aged 9–11, which provides direct progression to St Mary’s Calne at Year 7 (age 11).
Academic results are consistently strong, with 88% of A Levels graded A–B over the past three years. Most girls take 10–11 GCSEs, three A Levels, and an Extended Project Qualification. Small class sizes, averaging 15, support the ethos of “stretch without stress.”
Graduates go on to leading UK and international universities, with alumnae pursuing careers in medicine, law, finance, science, and more.
Admissions Opportunities
St Mary’s Calne offers entry to its full boarding and Early Start Boarding Programme, as well as 13+, 14+ and Sixth Form.
The admissions process includes an entrance exam, though emphasis is placed on adding value to each pupil’s learning rather than hot-housing top graders.
The upcoming Hong Kong event provides a unique opportunity to meet Mrs Wakefield in person, gain insight into boarding life, and explore how the school could help your daughter thrive academically and beyond.
