Hong Kong’s biggest panda-themed exhibition, Panda Go Fest! HK, is heading to Tsuen Wan for the next seven weeks. This time, more than 800 special Lunar New Year-inspired panda sculptures will be set up at D·PARK from January 17-March 6, 2025. The Panda Go! Guide will also make an appearance among the installations on January 19.
Panda Go Fest! HK at D·PARK
The Chinese New Year edition of Panda Go Fest! HK will begin at the atrium of D·PARK in Tsuen Wan on January 17 with the display of over 800 panda statuettes. This time around, visitors will get to see the miniature pandas in Lunar New Year designs for the first time. On January 19, there will also be a special appearance by the Panda Go! Guide, a life-size and lifelike panda who will pose with visitors for photographs.
From next month, the roving exhibition will return to the heart of Hong Kong when the 800-plus panda figures will be on view at Central Market from February 17-March 6. Ocean Park is also hosting a Panda Encyclopedia showcase so that visitors to the theme park can learn more about giant pandas.
What is Panda Go Fest! HK?
Panda Go Fest! HK started out as a presentation of 2,500 panda sculptures that paid tribute to the current global giant panda population numbers. The mini pandas first came to Hong Kong in December 2024 and travelled to key locations in the city: Avenue of Stars, Ngong Ping 360, Ocean Park Hong Kong, and Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park.
The eight-day event also featured six exclusive designs based on the expanded panda family at Ocean Park, which comprises long-time residents Ying Ying and Le Le, twin cubs born in August 2024, and two five-year-old pandas who came to Hong Kong in September. The city also held its first drone-and-pyrotechnics display in honour of the Ocean Park pandas late last month.
