For fellow coriander fans, KFC is giving its classic Portuguese egg tart a bold makeover with the new “Very Very Coriander Egg Tart”, launching on July 16.
The limited-time item is part of KFC’s wider summer promotions and is definitely not for the faint-hearted, with fresh coriander and crunchy coriander-flavoured chips built right into the bite.
The new tart keeps KFC’s golden, flaky Portuguese-style pastry and signature egg custard, then adds fresh coriander and a topping of crushed coriander-flavoured tortilla chips. The result is designed to mix sweet, savoury, crispy and soft textures in one very green mouthful.
The Very Very Coriander Egg Tart is priced from HK$14.5 for one piece, while customers can upgrade from a classic egg tart in selected meals for HK$5.
Those buying either a 6-piece Very Very Coriander Egg Tart box, or a box with 3 coriander tarts and 3 classic tarts, will receive a free 102g pack of coriander-flavoured Dorito tortilla chips while stocks last.
The new tart will be available at KFC restaurants across Hong Kong and Macau from July 16, except at the AsiaWorld-Expo, Stanley Plaza, Festival Walk, Kai Tak Retail Pavilion and Chi Fu Landmark branches.
It joins a wider summer menu push from KFC, including the new Thai Green Curry Chicken Steak Rice Bowl series and the “KFC Kids Fun Meal”, created for younger diners. KFC is also partnering with Kiztopia to offer extra playtime as part of the family-focused summer promotion.
