The sequel to the hit Hong Kong movie “Twilight of the Warriors” is now filming in the city, with recent shoots drawing attention in Tsim Sha Tsui and Temple Street. The latest talking point is a large-scale set built to recreate the former walled city, which is spotted in Yuen Long.

Titled Twilight of the Warriors: The Final Chapter, the new film is directed by Soi Cheang and stars Raymond Lam, Terrance Lau, Louis Koo, Tony Wu, German Cheung and new cast member Daniel Wu.

Set in 1993, the year Kowloon Walled City was acutally demolished, the story follows the final underworld conflicts before the area’s clearance.

After earlier shoots in Tsim Sha Tsui and Temple Street, the crew has built a highly realistic walled-city set in Yuen Long.

Images show weathered façades, stacked balconies, barred windows, tangled wires, old shop signs, hanging laundry and partially collapsed structures, giving the set the cramped, chaotic feeling associated with the former enclave.

The production team has asked fans not to visit, take photos or record videos at the site. The request was made for safety reasons and to allow the crew to focus on filming.
