Travel freedom still looks pretty strong for Hong Kong passport holders. The Henley Passport Index ranks passports by how many destinations holders can enter without applying for a visa in advance.
The 2026 ranking compares 199 passports across 227 travel destinations, offering a global snapshot of how easy, or difficult, it is to move around the world. In the latest list, Hong Kong SAR China holds 14th place.

Hong Kong SAR China ranks 14th globally, with a Global Access Score of 174. In simple terms, that score reflects the number of destinations Hong Kong passport holders can access without getting a visa before departure.
Henley counts destinations where no visa is required, as well as places offering visa on arrival, visitor permits or electronic travel authority arrangements. Destinations requiring a visa or pre-departure government approval do not count towards the score.
Singapore Tops The Ranking
Asian passports continue to lead the top of the Henley Passport Index. Singapore ranks first with access to 192 destinations, making it the world’s most powerful passport in the latest ranking.
Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates share second place with access to 188 destinations, while Sweden ranks third with 187 destinations.
The top results show how strongly Asian passports perform in global mobility, with several major regional economies ahead of traditional European and North American passport powers.
