Former Manchester City midfielder David Silva is returning to competitive football in Hong Kong. The 40-year-old World Cup winner has signed for Supreme Sha Tin, three years after ending his playing career in Spain. Silva spent a decade at Manchester City and represented Spain during one of the national team’s most successful periods. His move will now give local football fans the chance to see him play in the Hong Kong Premier League, with details of his first appearance expected to be confirmed by the club.

David Silva Heads To Hong Kong

David Silva played more than 400 matches for Manchester City between 2010 and 2020, winning four Premier League titles during his time in England.

He was also part of the Spain squads that won Euro 2008, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2012. After leaving Manchester City, the midfielder spent three seasons with Real Sociedad before retiring in 2023.

His latest move brings him to Supreme Sha Tin, who entered the Hong Kong Premier League for the 2026–27 season through an agreement between Supreme Football Club and Sha Tin Sports Association. More information about the local club structure is available through the official Sha Tin Sports Association football page.

When Can Fans See David Silva Play?

Silva’s first appearance for Supreme Sha Tin has not yet been officially confirmed, so supporters planning to watch him should check the club’s latest announcements before buying tickets or travelling to a match.

Supreme Sha Tin’s next scheduled league fixture is against Hong Kong FC on 18 October, although that does not necessarily mean Silva will feature in the match.

Match schedules, venues and kick-off times can also change, so fans should check the latest information through the Hong Kong Football Association before matchday.

Silva is expected to join the Supreme Sha Tin squad in Hong Kong ahead of his first appearance. Once the club confirms his debut, supporters should check the venue and ticket arrangements directly before heading to the stadium
