The prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 ceremony took place yesterday at the Rosewood Hotel. Although the event was not open to the public, it marked a significant moment for the F&B industry. This was the ninth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, the regional version of World’s Best Bar, highlighting the region’s vibrant cocktail culture. Hong Kong secured the top spot for the fourth year in a row, and had nine bars in the Top 50.
In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Coa topped the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, but there is a new winner this year!
Bar Leone has supplanted Coa as Asia’s Best Bar. Opened in mid-2023 in Central, this is the first solo venture by Lorenzo Antinori. Bar Leone offers a blend of speed, consistency, and simplicity. Signature drinks like the pre-batched Leone martini and the locally twisted yuzu gimlet highlight its innovative approach. Celebrating its first birthday in the best way possible, Bar Leone takes the top spot in this year’s rankings.
The top three bars also include Zest in Seoul at No.2 and Jigger & Pony in Singapore at No.3. These establishments represent the pinnacle of the Asian bar scene, setting high standards for excellence and creativity.
In addition to Bar Leone’s remarkable achievement, several other top-ranked bars from Hong Kong have secured spots in this year’s prestigious list, showcasing the city’s thriving cocktail scene:
- Coa at No.4
- Argo at No.9
- The Aubrey at No.10
- DarkSide at No.17
- The Savory Project at No.19
- Penicillin at No.24
- Quinary at No.26
- Mostly Harmless at No.45
