The Bun Scrambling Final, the finale of the 2026 Bun Carnival, will be held at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground, Cheung Chau, on Sunday, 24 May night. An opening ceremony starts at 11.30pm, and the main competition begins at midnight, running into the early hours of 25 May.

A total of 12 finalists will compete across the men’s and women’s divisions, climbing the bun tower to collect lucky buns and score points. In the men’s division, trophies will go to the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up. The women’s division will crown one champion with the highest score. A separate “Full Pockets of Lucky Buns” award will go to the participant who gathers the most buns.

Cheung Chau bun scrambling final free tickets

Spectator viewing is organised into four zones with capacity for about 1,650 people. Free admission tickets will be distributed on Cheung Chau from 10.00pm, one per person on a first-come basis while stocks last. Queues will form at Pak She First Lane (next to Cheung Chau Fire Station) and along Ping Chong Road, with entry to the zones starting from 10.30pm.

For those leaving after the event, a special ferry from Cheung Chau to Central is scheduled at 1.15am on 25 May.
