Hong Kong is now hosting the biggest horticultural event, the Hong Kong Flower Show, from March 14 to March 23, 2025. The annual happening will put the spotlight on Cosmos, a flowering plant belonging to the sunflower family — as the featured flower this year and will revolve around the theme ‘Ablaze with Glory’.

The show will be held at Victoria Park from 9am-9pm every day during its 10-day run.

What to expect at the Hong Kong Flower Show

Visitors to the botanical showcase, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, will be able to check out the 52 stalls taking part in this year’s festival, including 42 flower and gardening stalls. Additional booths include food and beverage counters, books, handicrafts, and a photographic equipment stand.

Attendees will be able to take part in several activities, including photo and plant exhibit competitions, music and cultural performances, workshops, tours, fun parent-child games, and obviously, buy flowers.

Tickets are priced HK$14 for adults (normal rate) and HK$7 for children and senior citizens.

Raising environmental awareness

At the end of the event, as every year, suitable leftover flowers in good condition remaining at the venue will be sent to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department parks for replanting as part of the ‘Give the Flowers a New Home!’ Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme that has been running since 2014 to raise environmental awareness among Hongkongers.

Schools, environmental groups, and non-governmental organisations are also invited to apply for the scheme by filling up an application form so they can receive potted plants from the show.
