Fancy a stroll through Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ or under the celestial wonders of the painter’s ‘Starry Night’? One of the world’s most celebrated immersive art exhibitions, ‘Van Gogh Alive — The Experience’, will return to Hong Kong this March. This sensory showcase, which has toured over 100 cities globally, brings the works of post-Impressionist master Vincent van Gogh to life through a captivating blend of light, sound, and fragrance. An exclusive preview will be held from February 28-March 9, followed by the no-reservations-needed run from March 10 June 8 this year at K11 HACC in North Point.

A Multi-Sensory Journey Through Van Gogh’s Works

Visitors can get fully immersed in Van Gogh’s most iconic masterpieces, including ‘Sunflowers’, ‘Starry Night’, and ‘Wheatfield with Crows’. Over 3,000 images are projected across nearly 30 large screens, with classical music from Schubert and Bach creating an emotional soundscape, while subtle fragrances evoke the flowers and countryside depicted in the paintings.

The exhibition is divided into several key zones. The Interpretive Area will offer an accessible introduction to the artist’s works and provides context for the immersive journey ahead, while the Immersive Area is the heart of the exhibition, surrounding visitors with moving images of Van Gogh’s paintings, combining visuals, music, and scents for a fully immersive experience. Once visitors enter Van Gogh’s Bedroom, they will be greeted by a life-sized recreation of ‘The Bedroom in Arles’, allowing visitors to step into one of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings.

Most notably, the exhibition marks the Hong Kong debut of AI Van Gogh — an innovative feature that uses artificial intelligence to create custom Van Gogh-style portraits of visitors. Access to this section requires an additional on-site purchase.
