Bread lovers, clear some stomach space. New Town Plaza is bringing together more than 30 bakery brands and over 300 products for a three-day bread festival in Sha Tin from 28–30 August. Called 「CHILL 歎麵包節 2026」 — roughly translated as “CHILL Bread Festival” — the event will take over nearly 6,000 sq ft across several areas of the shopping mall.
More Than 300 Breads And Baked Treats
The selection goes well beyond standard loaves and croissants. Visitors can expect everything from bagels, filled doughnuts and sweet buns to cheese breads, sourdough, traditional Hong Kong pastries and Portuguese egg tarts.
Among the participating names, Kadorar Bakery will offer limited creations including pandan mochi buns, while Portuguese bakery Manteigaria, who recently opened in Central, will bring its signature custard tarts to the festival.
More than 30 bakeries are taking part, mixing local favourites with overseas names and giving visitors plenty to browse whether they prefer something sweet, savoury or somewhere in between.
Three Taiwanese bakers — Hsu Chia-Chi, Huang Yu-Hsiang and Wu Chieh-Fu — will also be in Hong Kong for the event, meeting visitors and showcasing some of their creations.
Free Entry And An Optional HK$98 Pass
Admission to the festival is free, so you do not need a ticket to enter or browse the stalls. There is also an optional HK$98 festival pass available to The Point members. Rather than an admission ticket, the pass is a bundle of food and shopping vouchers with benefits worth up to HK$340.
Beyond the carb-loading, visitors will find oversized bread-themed photo installations and a pet-friendly area, while restaurants around New Town Plaza will run their own limited-time offers during the weekend.
The festival runs from 28–30 August, generally from 12pm–9pm, with Friday opening slightly later at 1pm.
