CHIIKAWA is taking over part of Hong Kong’s Light Rail train this summer. Ahead of the CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE Special Exhibition, MTR has teamed up again with AllRightsReserved for the “Next Station: CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE” campaign, bringing character-themed details to selected stations and launching a special Light Rail experience from July 25.
The CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE themed Light Rail will make its first journey on July 25 and run on weekends until August 30, with four trips each day.
Departing from Light Rail Siu Hong Stop, the train will travel towards either Tuen Mun Stop or Yuen Long Stop, following the former Light Rail Voyager routes.
This year’s design includes 3D character-shaped handrails featuring Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi, allowing passengers to “hold on” to their favourite characters during the ride.
The exterior also includes hidden glow-in-the-dark stars, adding to the fantasy theme. More CHIIKAWA installations and mosaic-inspired surprises will also appear at selected MTR stations.
Fans can buy the HK$88 “Light Rail Travel Pass” package at Light Rail Siu Hong Stop on Saturdays and Sundays during the event period.
The package includes one themed Light Rail ride, unlimited same-day travel on other Light Rail routes, a CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE envelope, a random CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE pouch and a HK$50 MTR e-Store coupon.
The campaign also leads into the upcoming CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE exhibition in Hong Kong, which opens on August 1. The exhibition will feature large-scale installations, including a giant carousel, giving fans another must-visit stop to add to their summer plans.
