Sanrio has opened on December 9, a new flagship store in Central, taking over a six-storey building at 30 Wellington Street, creating a new destination for fans to shop exclusive merch from the brand in Hong Kong.

The Japanese brand is best known for characters such as Hello Kitty, My Melody and Cinnamoroll, alongside fan favourites including Kuromi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Little Twin Stars, Tuxedosam, or Cogimyun.

The lower floors focus on Sanrio merchandise, with shelves filled with plush toys, stationery, accessories and gift items. Shoppers can also find seasonal and limited-edition Hello Kitty products as well as baby and infant items aimed at younger fans and families. Throughout the store, Sanrio-themed murals and character graphics line the walls and stairwells, creating colourful backdrops for photos.

The upper floors are operated by Bandai and include an Anpanman-themed store with large character displays and photo spots, as well as nanoblock and model toy sections presented through display-led layouts, plus gashapon capsule toy areas featuring a large number of machines and collectible items.

Visitors can also take part in a stamp-collection activity across 2/F, 3/F and 4/F, where stamps collected on each floor can be exchanged for a small free gift.
