Hong Kong’s most recognisable open-water swimming event is back on the calendar. Organised by the Hong Kong China Swimming Association, the Victoria Harbour Race 2026 will take place on Sunday, November 15. Swimmers will once again cross the city’s famous harbour, with 4,000 places available for this year’s race.
This year’s race also marks the 120th anniversary of Hong Kong’s harbour swim tradition, adding extra meaning to the 2026 edition.
The Victoria Harbour Race will return with its two signature categories: the Racing Group and the Leisure Group. Swimmers will start from Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier in Wan Chai and finish at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, covering a route of around one kilometre across Victoria Harbour.
The Leisure Group will again include a Team Application option, allowing local and overseas swimmers to register in groups of two to four.
Registration for the Victoria Harbour Race 2026 opens today, July 29, at 11am and closes on August 27 at 11:59pm on the official website.
Applicants must meet the organiser’s eligibility requirements before entering. The time trial list will be announced on September 7, followed by time trials on September 13, 19 and 20.
Time trial results will be released on September 24, while the final entrant list and waiting list will be announced on September 30.
