Trail runners can start planning their next big challenge, with The North Face 100 Ultra Trail Challenge Hong Kong returning from March 19 to 21, 2027.
Starting from Lam Tsuen Wishing Square in Tai Po, the routes ranging from 14km to 100km. The event is built for experienced ultra runners and those stepping deeper into trail racing in Hong Kong again.
The North Face 100 Ultra Trail Challenge
The North Face 100 Ultra Trail Challenge is a long-distance trail-running event designed for runners who want more than a standard road race.
The Hong Kong edition takes participants from Tai Po into the city’s mountains, hidden forest paths and rugged trails, testing endurance, pacing Po into the city’s mountains, hidden forest paths and rugged and mental strength.
The 2027 event is divided into two levels. Summit Level includes the 55km race, 100km solo race and 100km team relay, while Adventure Level includes 27km and 14km options. The new 27km race is aimed at runners with some trail experience who want to step up.
How To Register
Public registration opens on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 4pm, with places available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early-bird rates are available for individual entries completed on or before September 13.
The 2027 edition includes five categories: 14km, 27km, 55km, 100km solo and 100km team relay. Quotas range from 500 runners for the 27km and 100km races to 1,200 places for the 14km race.
This year’s total cash prize pool reaches HK$60,000, with prizes, medals and selected finisher gifts also available across race categories.
