The popular movie celebration is back for 2025, offering HK$30 tickets across cinemas in Hong Kong and continuing the success of past years. After two successful editions in 2023 and 2024, the Hong Kong Theatres Association is bringing the event back again, something movie lovers and families will love.

When is it and how long does it last?

Cinema Day 2025 will take place on Saturday, 10 May 2025. For one day only, moviegoers can enjoy films at a flat price of HK$30 per ticket, regardless of the time or cinema format. The offer applies to all movie sessions scheduled on that day.

Movie fans will be able to enjoy premium formats like IMAX, Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D. The only exception to the HK$30 price is the first show for seniors, which keeps its usual discount if it’s lower. Otherwise, no special prices apply for seniors, children, or students, and no other discounts, vouchers, or coupons will be accepted.

When and where can I get tickets?

Tickets for Cinema Day 2025 will go on sale starting 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at the box offices and official websites of participating cinemas. Each person can buy up to four tickets per transaction at the cinema box office, while online ticket limits depend on each theatre’s own policies.

One exception is Lux Theatre, which will begin ticket sales on 9 May 2025 instead. Both regular and VIP houses are included, although VIP houses will not provide food and beverages on the day. Private screenings and special programmes are not covered by the HK$30 offer.
